The Cincinnati Reds The Big Red Machine Vintage Limited Edition Lithograph By Willard Harland Mullin American 1902-1978. Willard Mullin very important American sports cartoonist. Highly celebrated, publicized and noted as one of the nations top sports artist. His work is held and displayed in major museums, galleries, universities, Baseball Hall of Fame Coopers Town et.al. Etc etc.
Mullin created this work in 1970. Registered by the Cincinnati Reds and commissioned by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. Painted in 1970 the year the BIG RED MACHINE moniker was truly born. The Reds played their final season in now historical Crosley Field and would move into the new River Front Stadium now also gone to history. The fledgling machine of 1970 was comprised of notable sports icons such as Tony Perez, Johnny Bench, a crew cut downing Pete Rose, Dave Conception, Lee May and a host others.
