Likely printed in 1950 or shortly thereafter due to price ($3.50) and mention of Russell’s Nobel Prize which he won in 1950. A clean, vintage copy of this classic work of philosophy / sociology / theology examining the history and ideal future for relationships in marriage, very ahead of its time, socially. Jacket is protected in new archival sleeve but with some mild rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creases and small tears. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked though tanned.
