Set of 2 Pacific Northwest rare, vintage bookend art pieces are from Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, Canada. The Haida carved Argillite totems and sculptural pieces.This unique replica set, acquired for a private collection in the 1970's, appears to be one of the earliest replicas of the beaver totem. Minor chips and scratches are noted as part of their vintage appeal. They appear to be Durastone, and the surface seems to be a black resin coating. Extremely rare copy of native art. There are several small chips. Measurements: 5.5” tall, 4” wide. More photos available upon request.
