Antique Ostby Barton Sterling & 10K Agate Ring-size 6
Genuine, emerald cut, Picture Agate with beautiful natural characteristics. The agate is a lovely shade of black & white/clear, bezel set into a solid sterling silver setting with flowers adorning each shoulder.
Highly Collectible item, as Cornelius Ostby perished on the Titanic. He was a founder of the Otsby Barton Jewelry Company in Rhode Island in the mid 1800s. He was survived by his daughter Helene, who continued to help run the Ostby Barton jewelry company after his death. This particular ring would have been popular right around the sinking of the Titanic! If may have been made right around that time, making this ring just over 100 years old.
*In good condition with normal signs of wear or patina. The shank has been cut, and can be soldered to size or worn adjustable. Sits at 6.5 on the mandrel. Hallmarked OB STERLING.
