I bought it off of a granddaughter of the original owner who owned since the 1930s. It has a inscription W.A sheaffer pen co fort Madison, Iowa usa. Pat.D-79, 795. She told me it's 14k sheaffer authentic fountain pen. I don't think the pen work when I bought it. I'm a collector but times are tough. Selling it as is
